S140P4 – The power of the blood: peace established
Col. 1:15-20
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.
The scriptures tell us that Christ will return to make all things new. There will be new heavens and a new Earth. [Rev. 21:1-4] We will have new glorified bodies. [Phi. 3:20-21] The effects of the fall of mankind will be no more; sin and death will be defeated. Everything that ever created turmoil and controversy between the Creator and his creation will be no more. It is by his very own spilled blood that this can be accomplished. It is the blood of peace that has brought not merely a few things but all things into reconciliation with him. Father, thank You for this blood that renews and makes peace, that gives us hope for a future where all is restored.
